David Bowman has built his family business into Europe's largest pumpkin supply outfit. Ideal growing conditions at his 141 ha farm in Lincolnshire mean he annually supplies more than two million bright orange pumpkins to supermarkets and other retailers across the UK and Europe, hitting the lucrative - but short - Halloween sales window. He's a big promoter of the vegetable as both a lantern and a great food source. He's appeared on breakfast television, Sky News, Channel Five and most of the national papers getting people interested in pumpkins. He is also heavily involved in the local Spalding Pumpkin Festival, which attracts 10,000 people each year.
