摘要

An independent review of the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act, published last week (Grower, 6 December), found that while labour users and providers welcome the principle of licensing and feel the Gang-masters Licensing Authority (GLA) has "done a good job", many remain sceptical concerning its impact. One consequence of the report could be that growers face more spot checks to prevent illegal employment practices that persist despite the Act.
