Peter Catt has been a well-known name within the industry for more than 40 years. But for this respected plantsman, it's the names of his plants that he hopes will always be remembered in horticulture history. In his opinion, his name will never bespecial enough to grace a plant, although he has been flattered by offers to do so: "The naming of a plant is almost as important as the plant itself. It has to mean something to them as soon as they hear it. It has to make them want to buy it. There'sno point in naming a plant after a person. It doesn't mean anything to most people," he says.
