Safer, Greener, which set out its proposals to improve the quality of the urban environment. In February 2003, deputy prime minister John Prescott further developed these plans with the announcement of Sustainable Communities: Building She Future, committing a total of ?01 million over three years to transform urban environments by promoting a wide range ofinitiatives.
