Social media is about creating a community of like-minded individuals who share information, knowledge, ideas, and updates with friends, family, and colleagues. It is considered the newest form of genre to supplement the technological and educational arenas. Social networking sites (SNS) are Web-based services that allow individuals to (1) construct a public or semipublic profile within a bounded system, (2) articulate a list of other users with whom they share a connection, and (3) view and traverse their list of connections and those made by others within the system.2 Some common social networking tools include podcasting, twittering, blogging, whereas SNS include Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, MySpace, Cyworld, Linkedin, and Bebo.
