Growing the Peace Lily

As I get deeper and deeper into growing houseplants as a hobby, things seem to get more and more complicated. I now use specific potting mixtures for various different plant groups, special lights for proper flower color, complicated temperature controls, etc., in order to encourage my "specialist" plants to grow as well as possible. It's both a challenge and a pleasure to get many of these to, bloom, and I certainly don't regret my choice when an exotic orchid or scented gardenia finally does bloomafter several years of care, but I do get a bit nostalgic for the good old days when I could put a 5-and-dime foliage plant in a corner and naively expect it to thrive.
