Avisit to the Smith property is like visiting the Hershey Estates Rose Gardens in Hershey, PA. Donna and JR's property is tucked away in a little valley in the York Haven area of PA. This little valley helps protect against natures sometimes harsh weather conditions and apparently has its own unique climate that roses love. Currently they have 550 rose plants growing in their various raised beds. Their roses consist of shrub, hybrid tea and floribunda verities. Visiting a local rose show many years ago, Donna was smitten with the wonderful roses and the dream was born to raise, produce, and show some of the best roses available. Everyone should find room in their gardens for a few roses purchased from reputable greenhouses. Donna will tell anyone those florists roses have no fragrance, don't open fully and tend to wilt quickly. She recommends growing your own tea roses for cuttings for your table.
