Response of rice variety Pusa Basmati-1 to fertilizer and spacing

Maval tract of Sub-montane Zone of Maharashtra state is a traditionally paddy growing tract. The prominent paddy varieties grown are Indrayani, Ambemohar 157, Pawana, Kundlika, jaya etc. With the introduction of free world market, scented varieties especially Basmati types, Basmati 1 is occupying sizable area in the region. To find out the optimum and economical yield of Pusa Basmati 1, field experiments were conducted at the Agricultural Research Station, Vadgaon (Maval).
