摘要

Sowing of Pigeonpea in post rainy season considerably reduces the duration of the crop and correspondingly the dry matter accumulation. However, the magnitude of reduction in source is greater than the magnitude of reduction in sink and consequently harvest index. The acropetal translocation of various assimilates which plays an important role for the development of various reproductive parts became a major constraint. Stimulation of growth through auxins like NAA and nutrients like KNO_3 may contribute for the promotion of the translocation of assimilates to the economic yield. Shinde and Jamadagni (1991) reported that NAA application enhanced the biological yield and ultimately resulted in elevating the seed yield by 33 per cent in cowpea. Hence, the present investigation was conducted to study the effect of foliar application of potassium nitrate and NAA on growth and yield of pigeonpea.
