摘要

Lablab (Lablab purpureus (L.) Sweet var. typicus prain). commonly referred as Dolichus lablab. Indian bean, garden bean, hyarinth bean etc is one of the important dual purpose pulse crops with richest source of vegetable protein (38.9%). It is cultivated in large scale for commercial production of both vegetable and grain and in home garden for vegetable. Seed is the basic input for large scale production of economic produce. Hence the seed used for sowing should be with better seed quality characters in terms of vigour and viability. Seed maturity is the prime factor that decides the success of seed in further sowing (Evans, 1975). Fixation of optimum stage of physiological as well as harvestable maturity is warranted for production of better quality seed with reduced shattering loss. Hence, studies were made to trace the seed development and maturation in lablab cv. CO 1 to harvest quality seeds.
