Effect of paclobutrazol in conjunction with herbicide anilofos on aged seedings of rice.

Field experiments were conducted at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu during rabi [winter] 1993/94 and kharif [monsoon] 1994 to determine the effect of the growth retardant paclobutrazol in conjunction with the herbicide anilofos on aged seedlings of rice. Thehighest grain yield was obtained with the application of 200 g paclobutrazol/ha at 8 days after sowing in the nursery and 0.4 kg anilofos/ha at 5 days after transplanting followed by 200 g paclobutrazol/ha at 8 days after transplanting in the main field. Paclobutrazol applied at 8 days after transplanting was preferred to 15 days before heading.
