Efficacy of farmboon on yield of turmeric

Turmeric is one of the important commercial crops being cultivated in Erode district of Tamil Nadu. For sustaining the yield of any agricultural crop, use of organic manures along with the inorganic fertilisers is well experienced now. Application of organics helps to maintain favourable physical environment for the growth of the crop. In addition, it satisfies the nutrient requirements of crops to certain extent. The escalating cost of inorganic fertilisers necessiated the use of organics, and at present various organic manures like FYM, compost, pig manure, cattle manure, poultry manure, coir pith, etc. are used. The "farm boon" is one such organic manure obtained from the sugarcane waste.
