New materials from high pressure experiments: challenges and opportunities

Recent improvements in high pressure techniques have led to new scientific discoveries in fields ranging from Earth and Planetary Science, to fandamental physics and biology. Here we examine the possibilities for development of new technologically-important materials based on high pressure research.
