Chinese see UK as key to Europe

Astaggering 83% of the world's air conditioning is now manufactured in China and the country's best-known brand Haier is leading the charge for UK marketshare. Speaking to a delegation of British journalists, the company's director of commercial air conditioning Sun Haijian said: 'The UK is the most important market for our corporation. British users expect and demand the very highest standards of equipment plus you require a variety of special functions from your air conditioning systems. This makes it a very challenging marketplace, but we recognise that if we can make a success of the UK we can make it pretty much anywhere."
