It is vitally important for modern science to understand regularities in the existence of the Earth's biosphere-the only natural ecosystem known to us. The most important role in implementing these regularities is played by processes of matter turnover in the biosphere; hence, the principles of their formation and sustainability, congruence mechanisms, and other important characteristics are key elements in understanding the laws of the biosphere's functioning.
