Evaluating the safety of the proposed waste repository at Yucca mountain.

摘要

In view of the importance of developing safe solutions for disposal of long-lived radioactive wastes, including spent nuclear fuel, the focus of the thirty-second Lauriston S. Taylor lecture on technical and regulatory issues relating to Yucca Mountain (Moeller 2009) is very welcome. However, in attempting to cover a wide range of important issues within the compass of a single article, I think that Moeller has given a simplistic and potentially misleading impression of some of those issues.
