Frontier Q2 Income Falls 76%

Like its competitors, Houston-based Frontier Oil announced in its second quarter earnings release last week that high crude oil prices and decreasing gasoline margins dampened second quarter profits. For the second quarter of 2008, net income was $59.3 million, 76% less than the $243.8 million in net income for the same period last year. For the first half of 2008, net income was $105.3 million, 67% less than the $318.5 million in net income for the first half of 2007.
