Special gasoline blends used in the U.S. are a bit of a mixed blessing. On one hand, they reduce emissions and improve air quality, but on the other hand, they complicate supply and contribute to higher prices at the pump. That's the main conclusion of a new report from the General Accountability Office (GAO), which states the proliferation of boutique fuels reduces supply chain efficiency and raises costs.
