Surveys Question Future Market Popularity of Alternative-Fueled Vehicles

In light of the recent passage and signing of the U.S. energy bill, there has been much speculation on how the expanded renewables mandate and the increase of the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standard will impact demand for alternative sources of fuel over traditional fuels like gasoline and diesel. Indeed, according to two surveys, alternative fuel sources for motor vehicles is the buzzword, but whether consumers will actually buy into purchasing smaller, more efficient vehicles remains to be seen.
