CIBC: U.S. Gasoline to Climb Near $7/gal by 2012

The U.S. retail price of gasoline will climb to above $4/gal this summer, $5.50/gal by summer 2010 and nearly $7/gal by 2012, CIBC World Markets said in a new report. The price will be driven to these levels due to climbing crude oil prices ($150/bbl by 2010 and $225/bbl by 2012), propelled by tightening supplies, and increasing demand for petroleum products in non-OECD countries.
