A study from by Canada's Library of Parliament's science and technology division says that recent Canadian biofuels regulations will do little to reduce greenhouse emissions in Canada.The report comes as the Conservative budget has earmarked 1.5 billion over seven years to domestic ethanol and biodiesel producers, with the intent to increase biofuel consumption by 5% of total fuel consumption by 2010. Canadian gasoline would be required to contain 5% renewable content by 2010, and diesel and fuel oil would be blended with of 2% renewable content by 2012.
