RFS POSES AMBITIOUS ETHANOL BLENDING MANDATE

The recently enacted renewable fuels standard (RFS) contains an "ambitious" amount of ethanol that U.S. refiners will have to blend into motor fuels, the head of the American Petroleum Institute (API) told a senate committee last week. API President Red Cavaney told the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee that additional ethanol amounts under discussion in some circles would pose a problem for fuel producers.
