Canada to Subsidize Biofuel Operations

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced a 1.5 billion federal subsidy Thursday for producers of biofuels, designed to ramp up production in time for new government-mandated fuel blends.The ecoENERGY for Biofuels program, as the plan is known, provides up to 10 cents per liter for ethanol and 20 cents per liter for biodiesel.
