Making choices in healthcare is complicated - it's difficult for patients.family members, physicians, nurses, specialists, and administrators. Fortunately, there is a growing focus on ways to improve decision-making and enhance patient involvement and empowerment in the context of medical care. We are pleased to introduce Healthcare's second issue devoted to patient- and family-centered innovation - that is, healthcare policies and delivery strategies that provide care integrating the needs, values, and informed preferences of patients and their caregivers.
