HVAC: System leaves a warm glow in school coffers

Residents of Minnesota in the United States have a reputation for toughing out snow and cold each year, but the particularly harsh 2013-2014 winter saw record lows which put heating systems to the test. Faced with this situation, a school decided it was high time for a retrofit which, at a time of spiralling energy costs, actually saved money. Below freezing temperatures are not good news for many commercial buildings which are not always energy efficient. Saint John's University, an all-male, Benedictine school in the town of Collegeville, is no exception but an interest in the environment as well as becoming more efficient spurred managers into action.
