From the back shop to the sales floor, independent outdoor power equipment dealers need to put a greater emphasis on the service they provide their customers. And suppliers need to take the lead in helping dealers enhance their service levels. These perspectives were a common thread tying together the diverse panelists in this year's Outdoor Power Equipment Distributors Association (OPEDA) Manufacturer Executives' Dialogue. The supplier round table was one of many events at OPEDA's annual meeting held March 1 through 4 in San Diego. Participants were: Tom Bunch, president, Shindaiwa Inc.; Jeff Hallgren, general manager, White Outdoor Products Co.; Mike Hamilton, executive vice president, Briggs & Stratum; Norm Pfeiffer, president, Little Wonder; John Smith, president, Exmark Mfg. Co.; and Mike Thuecks, director of sales and marketing, Ariens Co.
