The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) has released its Short-Term Energy Outlook, indicating that US crude production rose to average 7.5MM b/d for the month of July. The output was "the highest for any month since 1991," commented EIA boss Adam Sieminski, who added that monthly production would likely surpass crude imports "as early as Oct., the first time this will have happened since Feb. 1995." Accordingly, the EIA has raised its production forecast to an average of 7.4MM b/d in 2013 and 8.3MM b/d in 2014, with both numbers up by about 100K b/d.
