Talks to substantially expand Bolivian gas exports to Argentina may be a last chance for Bolivia to become a regional gas supply hub, as South America ponders a definitive shift toward imported LNG. Bolivia exports gas solely by pipeline, to Brazil, which has rights to buy up to 11 billion cubic meters per year (1.06 billion cubic feet per day), and in smaller quantities to Argentina. Some 80% or its sales are on take-or-pay terms.
