Russian Gazprom has proposed buying the entire gas output from the Exxon Mobil-led Sakhalin-1 consortium as part of a strategy targeting greater control over gas exports,Russian insiders say.However,WGI is told that the Sakhalin-1 gas is,in fact,likely to be split three ways,some going to Gazprom for use inside Russia,some going as feedstock for the Sakhalin-2 LNG facility operated by Royal Dutch Shell,and some going by pipeline to China (WGI Dec.l4,p1).
