CURRENT Gas Figures Large in Shell's New Zero-Emissions Scenario

In an attempt to re-enter a climate debate in which oil and gas industry input has by and large been missing, Royal Dutch Shell has just produced a radical scenario for a decarbonized world that also chimes with its ambitions to become a global LNG leader. Three years after releasing forecasts that themselves went well beyond typical "business-as-usual" scenarios, Shell last week went a step further, picturing a "net zero emissions" world in which temperature increases could be limited to the 2°C deemed necessary to avoid the worst effects of climate change.
