Distributed generation has been long touted as a means to bridge a growing energy gap in many countries,possibly removing the need for building new large-scale plants to replace aging capacity,but has so far not made many inroads.This could,however,be about to change,with domestic consumers potentially being transformed into microgenerators that could sell any excess power produced to the grid.
