After a record hot summer, Taiwan is now expected to be hungry for more LNG during the winter season after around half of its nuclear reactor fleet remain offline until the end of the year. The typical summer buyer has already seen imports of the super-chilled fuel chart a three-month-long upswing - with latest September imports totaling 1.3 million tons, up 12.6% on-year. With Asian LNG prices already on a bull run, an extra injection of demand might ramp up competition coming into 2017.
