US LNG imports sank in the first quarter to levels not seen since 2003.Contributing to the poor volume showing was this winter's highly competitive LNG market,which saw Europeans and East Asians ready to pay large premiums to US buyers.Problems at production facilities exacerbated the tightness.But perhaps most important was the relatively mild weather in the US.
