Norway's DNO and Anglo-Turkish Genel Energy have agreed to sell gas from their Summail field in Iraq's semiautonomous Kurdistan region to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to supply a power plant in Dohuk, 40 km away. The gas will be sold on a take-or-pay basis, and DNO said it will receive $3-$4 per thousand cubic feet, equivalent to $2.90-$3.90/MMBtu. The deal is the first to set a gas price in the Kurdistan region, as gas produced from the Khor Mor field by the UAE's Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum is supplied to the KRG for free (WGIJun.26'13).
