Competition, Re-Exports Push Up Prices in Asia and Europe

Northeast Asian prices surged another 300 last week to $19 per million Btu as buyers raised bids for cargoes for delivery at the end of February or in March, while prices in Southwest Europe rose a similar 300 to $14.70/MMBtu as demand increased for re-exports from South America and Turkey, according to WGI assessments for cargoes for delivery four to eight weeks ahead.
