Corn has become a grazing and silage option for a growing number of cattle producers in the area. Last month producers had some first-hand information on corn production from their peers as the stories of three growers were shared at a seminar in Yorkton hosted by Friendly Acres Seed Farm. Producers aren't generally looking to grow corn for seed in the area, said Kevin Elmy, with Friendly Acres. Instead, farmers are either cutting it for silage, or leaving it standing in the field to be grazed by cattle once the snow is on the ground.
