摘要

Exemplary for turning and drilling of an austenitic stainless steel grade X5CrNi18-10 using a synthetic ester as cooling lubricant (CL) methods for compensation for modified wear attack on the mayor cutting edge and the chip flutes are deduced. Solution approaches by application of a newly developed coating as well as hard-soft compound coatings are described. Additionally the effects of additives in the applied cutting fluids hove been investigated in order to define demands on tool coatings to meet future developments of environmentally compatible cooling lubricants in terms of minimising the content of additives.
