Carers at the heart of 21st century families and communities: a response for pharmacy

In June 2008, the UK Government published its new carers' strategy, Carers at the heart of 21st century families and communities, which is a policy document intended to guide serv-ice provision for carers (or care-givers) over the next decade. In recognition of the diverse needs of carers the strategy brings together several government departments (including the Departments of Health, Work and Pensions, Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, Children, Schools and Families, Communities and Local Government, the Equalities Office and the Treasury) as well as the principal carers' organisations in the UK.
