THE IDEA OF a high-performance Golf TDI is nothing new, but for self-employed wine merchant Kulwinder Dhillon, generally known simply as 'Dylon', the standard ECU re-map to 160-170 PS was never going to be enough. His other everyday road car is a full-house modified BMW 535d MSport, good for 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and 155 mph even in standard form, and clearly nothing short of a spectacular increase in performance for the Mk 5 would do... In fact, the car had originally been bought for his wife to run around in, but - after driving it for a few times himself Dylon soon developed a taste for the homely hatchback and it has since become something of a personal project for him to develop it into the ultimate diesel Golf.
