Volkswagen's California motorcaravan conversion contains a wealth of special features... WE'VE ALREADY reviewed the T5 California in the October 2004 issue and in our July issue this year, but it was only when we took one along to the special display at this year's Vanfest event that we realised just how much interest it attracts. No sooner had the doors opened at 9 am on Saturday than a crowd swarmed all over it, and it remained popular throughout both days of the event, with a constant stream of visitors exploring its every nook and cranny. Explaining its special features, and discovering a few we didn't previously know about, made us realise just how clever the basic design is, and the experience has prompted us to delve deeper into the basic design and technicalities of the vehicle.
