Occurrence of Red Knot and Marbled Godwit in Colombia

Red Knot Calidris canutus and Marbled Godwit Limosa fedoa have been considered hypothetical species in Colombia because no specimens have been collected there (Hilty & Brown 2001). Here I report records of both species in Colombia confirming that they winter on both coasts and are regular migrants on the Pacific coast. Most of these records relate to intertidal habitats in the Iscuande River Delta on the Pacific coast, a site that is included in the Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network (2°39'53"N, 78°03'16"W; Fig. 1).
