THE NEW Skoda Fabia, unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, has already attracted a lot of interest, and we recently took the opportunity to drive it ahead of its official UK launch in May. The original Fabia was a great success for Skoda, receiving many awards and selling over 1.5 million examples; indeed, even in its last year, it still sold over 18,000. But with the A0 supermini class so hotly contested, with fresh competition from the Fiat Punto, Vauxhall Corsa and Renault Clio, Skoda needed a new face to maintain the momentum.
