AS MENTIONED in the feature on my car in the last issue, I considered the standard brakes on my Mk 5 Golf GT TDI AMotion to be barely adequate. They were all right for casual day-to-day driving, but if you began to make full use of the available performance and dynamic abilities of the car, even in standard trim, you soon realised that stopping quickly was not on the menu. With the much increased performance of the REVO-tuned engine with its new Milltek exhaust, some serious improvement in braking power was called for.
