The standard Scirocco handles superbly - better than the GTI - but even greater improvements can be achieved, as Neil Birkitt reports... ANYONE WHO has driven one will know that the Scirocco has noticeably better handling than its sibling, the Golf GTI. It feels more stable and planted on the road, with quicker steering response and a better balance overall. While the Golf feels like a very competent hot hatch, the Scirocco is every bit the sports coupe, despite the fact that both cars run on virtually identical suspension, with exactly the same 2578 mm wheelbase.
