The uvea is the vascular component of the eye and consists of the iris, ciliary body, and choroid. The uvea and its components are responsible for producing aqueous humor and maintaining the blood-ocular barrier, as well as for supplying nutrients tothe retina and helping to eliminate waste products. The uvea also includes the muscles that regulate the constriction and dilation of the pupil.
