Dark fire-cured tobacco growers - at least hose in Virginia - will have two new varieties added to their selection list for next year's growing season. VA355 and VA359, which have more black shank resistance than other varieties, were developed by Carol Wilkinson, Virginia Tech associate professor of agronomy at the Southern Piedmont Agricultural Research and Extension Center in Blackstone.
