Clients often want to know more, they want to be responsible pet owners - so what can you do to educate them? Promoting responsible pet ownership will already be part of your daily routine, but it comes to the forefront during nurse consultations andpractice education events. If you want to promote your practice as a 'pet health centre' you will need to provide your clients with regular advice on the basics of pet care. These include subjects such as: parasite control; disease prevention and zoonotic disease control; obedience training and behaviour; neutering; weight control and micro-chipping, etc. They can be discussed during nurse-led consultations and life-stage focused clinics.
