When I was asked to write an article on how to deal with mistakes, I deemed it a daunting task. In my experiences in practice and then in consulting, I have seen few practices and even fewer team members who have ever erred (sarcasm is implied). But,have you ever: Sent a pet home without its leash, collar, or carrier? Forgot to bathe a boarder? Sent a pet home with the wrong prescription? Sent a pet home with a rectal thermometer still in place? Forgot to charge for a service? Overcharged for a service or product? Tried to spay a male cat? Had a suture site dehisce?
