Restoring navigation to the Droitwich canals: Pleasure boats will soon be able to pass along a West Midlands canal rich in industrial heritage thanks to ongoing regeneration of waterways near Droitwitch

A bandoned inland waterways are currently being revived around the spa town of Droitwich in a two year programme of construction and restoration that will link the River Severn to the Worcester & Birmingham Canal. The ￡13M project will restore 12kms of navigation and includes the creation of four new locks, repairs to a dozen lock gates and digging of new canal to replace now redundant stretches of river.
