Open road tolling (ORT) has changed the landscape for toll collection around the world and now it has made its way to the state of Florida. Perhaps the Sunshine State needs it. By 2030, it is expected to surpass New York and become the third most-populous state, with almost 26 million residents. With a rapidly growing population, bursting-at-the-seams development and a tourism industry that drew 84.6 million visitors in 2006 alone, Florida is a hot destination for many more reasons than its balmy weather.
